Ramses Sanchez Jr. is a board-certified physician assistant. He is passionate about restoring function and improving lives, dedicating himself to helping patients return to the activities they love, whether at work, in sports, or in everyday routines.
Education and Certification
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and Doctor of Medical Science degrees from A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona. Ramses has been certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants since 2021.
Ramses began his undergraduate career in orthopedics and emergency medicine, where he discovered a lasting passion for musculoskeletal care. This discovery led him to pursue focused orthopedic rotations during his physician assistant training. He later served in general practice, managing complex chronic conditions and urgent care needs with a strong emphasis on evidence-based medicine. His work focused mainly on musculoskeletal injuries and chronic conditions, earning him recognition for his leadership and commitment to quality improvement.
Now specializing in hand, wrist, and forearm disorders, Ramses collaborates closely with our hand surgeons to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care across clinical consultations and surgical procedures.
About Ramses Sanchez Jr.
Ramses has deep roots in South Texas and Northeast Mexico. His life experiences in both regions give him a strong cross-cultural perspective and a deep understanding of the unique healthcare needs of diverse communities. Fluent in Spanish and a dedicated patient advocate, he values education as a key tool in empowering patients, often sharing the belief that “knowledge is power.” Outside of medicine, Ramses enjoys golfing, cycling, reading, and spending time with his wife and their two dogs.
