Nicky received her degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 1989. She worked exclusively in hand therapy at Tygerberg Hospital in South Africa until 1994. Afterward, she worked in General Orthopedics in Southampton, England for one year. In 1996 she came to the United States and has since worked exclusively in hand therapy. She became a Certified Hand Therapist in 2003.

Nicky frequently attends continuing education courses to further her knowledge and provide her patients with state-of-the-art treatment. She has also trained in the use of the Graston Technique and Active Release Techniques for soft tissue mobilization and is a Certified Kinesiotaping Practitioner.

She is happiest when she is outdoors in the sunshine, preferably at the coast, or having friends over for a barbecue. She also enjoys reading, swimming, golf and tennis.
